ASSOCIATED PRESSNEWARK, N.J. - More federal money is headed to northern New Jersey's two major airports for infrastructure improvements.
Senators Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez announced Thursday the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will get $2.3 million for upgrades at Newark Liberty and Teterboro airports.
Newark will receive the bulk of the grants: Just under $2 million to make repairs to the pavement on east-west runways 11 and 29.
Teterboro will receive about $250,000 to fix the pavement on one of its taxiways. Another $95,000 will be spent on a study to review safety systems.
