Making a Real Difference
Every day there’s a law - or two- written by Senator Lautenberg that’s making a real difference in your life and that of your neighbors all across New Jersey and this nation.
Frank Lautenberg knows that government works best when it’s helping people make their lives better and when it’s solving a problem that’s bigger than any individual. See for yourself how Senator Lautenberg is making a real difference in our lives:
- He wrote the law that got cancer-causing asbestos out of our schools, protecting students from kindergarten to high school.
- When the Washington Republicans and the Bush Administration tried to undo New Jersey’s Affordable Prescription programs, Senator Lautenberg led the fight to successfully keep life savings drugs affordable for tens of thousands of New Jersey seniors and the disabled.
- As a leader in the fight against the dangers of smoking, Senator Lautenberg wrote the law that banned smoking in buildings that include Federally-funded programs that serve children and the law that banned smoking on domestic airline flights.
- Stem cell research holds out the promise of cures for diseases from Diabetes to Parkinson’s to Alzheimer’s, so Frank Lautenberg is on the front lines cosponsoring legislation to fund and support this cutting edge medical research.
- New Jersey has more toxic waste sites than any other state, so Senator Lautenberg won additional funding from the EPA to clean up chemical waste sites across our state.
Senator Lautenberg always looks ahead to tackle tough problems and he’s always using common sense to achieve uncommon results. That’s why Senator Lautenberg is changing things for the better and making a real difference for all of us.
