The energy in Denver is electric - and our convention has gotten off to a great start with the selection of Senator Biden. The choice of Joe Biden as our vice-presidential nominee is a clear example of Senator Obama's great judgment and leadership.

Joe is a close friend, a valued colleague in the Senate and an outspoken advocate for us on so many important issues, from foreign affairs to civil rights to reducing gun violence. Joe is a remarkably effective voice for our entire region, and for Democrats across the country and the globe.

My friends, this convention is where the change America needs starts.  And with your help, I look forward to working with Barack Obama and Joe Biden to put our nation back on track.

In this election, the choice is stark - on one side the ability to change the failures of eight years of George Bush and John McCain…and on the other simply continuing what's wrong with Washington.
